How to view my chat rooms

You can view and access the chat rooms which you have joined on the Member Dashboard and Chat page.
Member Dashboard
Once you have logged into your HeyPeers account, you will be brought to your Member Dashboard. You can also navigate to the Member Dashboard at any time by clicking on the HeyPeers logo in the top left corner of the menu bar.
The Member Dashboard is divided into sections. Locate the Your Group Chats section.

The Your Group Chats section on the dashboard will only preview up to four of your most recently active chat rooms. They are displayed left-to-right in unread message count order, with the chat room having the most unread messages displayed first (on the left).

If you have joined more than four chat rooms, the View All Chat rooms link (found at the top right of the section) will take you to the Chat page to see all of your chat rooms.

Each chat information box displays the number of new, unread messages so you can easily see recent chat activity. The chat information box also serves as a button. When you click the chat box, you will be immediately brought to the conversation page of that chat room.

Chat page

The Chat page will allow you to easily participate in and manage all your chat rooms. To access the Chat page, select Chat from your HeyPeers top menu bar.

Your chat rooms are arranged by recency of activity, with those featuring the most recent interactions appearing at the top. To view your private group chat rooms, click on the Groups button. To view your one-on-one chat rooms, click on the One-on-One button.

Each chat room is displayed as a tile with all the important details for its members. Please see the chart below for clarification.

  1. The type of chat room
PRIVATE = a chat room open to invited members only. These are not displayed on the Discover Chat Rooms page
PUBLIC = a chat room open to all members. These are displayed on the Discover Chat Rooms page.

  3. Chat room name

  4. Chat room description

  5. Name of the chat room moderator

  6. The number of active members of the chat room. An active member is one who has posted a message within the past 7 days.
