Recommended Browsers for Online Meetings
Online meetings on the HeyPeers website use one of two meeting platforms. Some meetings use Zoom, and others use our own in‑browser meeting platform called HeyPeers Meetings. All meetings are launched from the HeyPeers website. HeyPeers Meetings always run entirely in your web browser, while Zoom meetings may open either in your browser or in the Zoom app after you start from HeyPeers. Using a supported browser helps ensure your camera, microphone, and audio work correctly on both platforms.

- macOS: Safari or Chrome
- iPhone/iPad (iOS): Safari
- Android phones/tablets: Chrome
Browsers that may cause issues
Some browsers cannot access the camera or microphone reliably, or cannot run online meetings at all.
- Samsung Internet (Android): not compatible with HeyPeers Meetings
- Chrome on iPad: camera access may not work
- Firefox on Android: unstable audio/video
- In‑app browsers inside email or social media apps (AOL, Yahoo Mail, Gmail, Google app, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok) cannot run HeyPeers Meetings and may block Zoom from launching
How your browser affects meeting quality
Recommended browsers handle camera, microphone, and device permissions more reliably. They maintain a steadier audio and video connection and recover more easily if your device switches audio routes. Other modern browsers may still work, but using a recommended browser gives you the most consistent experience.

- Keep your browser updated to the latest version.
- Close other tabs or apps to reduce strain on your device.
- If the meeting doesn’t load after tapping JOIN, switch to a recommended browser and try again.
