Claim an open seat when a meeting is full
Meeting Standby gives waitlisted members a chance to claim open seats in a group meeting. If there are last-minute no-shows, group leaders can offer available seats to those in the standby room.
Seats are offered in waitlist order. It’s a fair and flexible way to join a meeting that might otherwise be full.
How meeting standby works
1. Ten minutes before the meeting starts
Sign into your HeyPeers account and click on My Meetings on the top menu bar.
The My Meetings page lists all of your upcoming meetings and those meetings for which you are waitlisted. Click the On Waiting List button.
When the standby room opens, a Join Standby button will appear on the meeting tile.
Tip: If you don't see the button and it is less than 10 minutes to the meeting start, try refreshing the page.
Click Join Standby to enter the room and wait for an available seat.
2. Watch for status updates
Once you're inside the meeting standby room, keep an eye on the Standby Status bar for real-time updates.
If no seats have been offered yet, a yellow status bar will be displayed, showing the following message.
If seats are being offered, a green status bar will be displayed, showing the following message.
3. If a seat is offered to you
You'll see an invitation that says You are invited, along with a Join button.
Click Join to claim your seat and complete registration for the meeting. Act quickly—these spots are limited!

When does the standby room close?
You’ll have access from 10 minutes before the meeting starts until 10 minutes after, at which time the room closes automatically and seats can no longer be offered.
