How to reset your password

If you’ve forgotten your password—don’t worry! Resetting it is quick and easy.

Go to HeyPeers and click Login in the top-right corner.

Once on the login screen, click the Forgot Password link located just below the email and password fields.

The Forgot Password form will appear. Enter the email address associated with your HeyPeers account, then click Reset to submit the form.

A confirmation message will appear, letting you know that password reset instructions have been sent to your email.

Check your inbox for an email from noreply@heypeers.com with the subject line Reset password instructions.  If you don’t see it, check your spam or junk folder. If the email ended up there, mark it as safe by adding [email protected] to your contacts to ensure you receive future messages.

Once you've found the email, open it and click the Change My Password button to continue.

Important Note: If you clicked Reset multiple times, you'll receive a separate email for each request. Be sure to use the most recent email—only the latest link will work. Earlier reset links will be disabled.

A new form will open in your browser, prompting you to create a new password.

Make sure your password meets the following requirements:

  • 8–20 characters long
  • Does not contain spaces
  • Includes at least one uppercase letter
  • Includes at least one number
  • Includes at least one symbol.
    Allowed Symbols: ! @ # $ % ^ & * ( ) , . ? " : { } |

As you type your new password, each requirement in the list will be marked with a dot.  When a requirement is met, the dot turns green. If a dot remains red, it means that requirement hasn’t been satisfied yet and your password won’t be accepted until it is.

Once all of the items on the list are GREEN, click Update password.

After you click Update Password, you’ll be automatically logged into your account.  A confirmation message will appear in a banner at the top of the page.

You will also receive a confirmation email that your password was successfully changed.

Password reset alerts and what to do

If you see the message that says “Password must be different than your last two passwords,” it means the new password you entered matches one of your two most recently used passwords. To proceed, you’ll need to create a password that you haven’t used recently. Try choosing something fresh—just make sure it still meets all the security requirements listed above.

If you see the message “Reset password token has expired, please request a new one,” it means the link in your password reset email can no longer be used.

This can happen for a few reasons:

  • The link has expired (password reset links are time-sensitive).
  • The link has already been used once—each reset link can only be used one time.

  • You may have clicked Reset multiple times and tried using an older link—only the latest email contains a valid link.

To fix this:

Go back to the login page and request a new password reset. Just be sure to use the most recent email you receive to complete the process.
