Troubleshooting connectivity, video, or performance issues in HeyPeers embedded meetings

These five fixes will solve 90% of problems

If you’re having trouble joining a meeting, seeing, or hearing others, or notice a lag or poor video quality, don’t worry. These issues are usually easy to fix. Most connectivity and performance hiccups in HeyPeers embedded meetings can be resolved with a few quick steps, starting with a simple browser refresh.

Quick fixes that solve most issues

These steps resolve most common problems:

STEP 1: Refresh your browser page
This clears temporary glitches and resets your connection to the meeting. It’s often the fastest and most effective fix.

STEP 2: Try Incognito or Private Mode
Browser extensions (like ad blockers) can interfere with camera and mic access. Incognito mode disables extensions and loads a clean session.

STEP 3: Quit and reopen your browser
Fully close your browser (not just the tab) and relaunch it. This helps reset permissions and clear stalled processes.

STEP 4: Try a different browser
HeyPeers embedded meetings work best with Chrome, Safari, or Firefox. If one browser isn’t working, switching may resolve the issue.

STEP 5: Restart your device
A full reboot can clear out network settings and refresh your system’s connection to the meeting.

Additional tips for better performance

Use a stable network

Ethernet is ideal. If using Wi-Fi, move closer to your router.

Limit background apps

Close apps that use internet bandwidth (e.g., Dropbox, streaming services).

Check camera & mic permissions

Make sure your browser has access to your devices.

Close unnecessary browser tabs

Keeping only essential tabs open can improve performance and reduce distractions during your meeting.

Close other video meeting software before joining

Make sure applications like Zoom, Skype, or Microsoft Teams are fully closed to prevent audio or video conflicts during your meeting.
