Crisis Resources FAQ

Finding Support When You Need It Most

Is HeyPeers a crisis service?

No. While HeyPeers provides connection and peer support, we are not a crisis service and are not equipped to respond to emergencies.

What should I do if I am in immediate danger or feel unsafe?
If you are in danger or experiencing a life-threatening emergency, please call 911 or 988 right away, or reach out to a trusted person or local medical provider for help.

What crisis resources are available to me?
If you are feeling overwhelmed, unsafe, or need someone to talk to immediately, the following resources are available 24/7:

  • Lifeline Chat: 1-800-273-TALK (800-273-8255)

  • IMAlive Messaging Line: https://www.imalive.org/

  • Texting Support Line: Text DBSA to 741741

  • Samaritans USA: 877-870-4673

Why is it important to use crisis resources?

Crisis lines are staffed with trained counselors who can provide real-time support, guidance, and safety planning. These professionals are equipped to respond when emotions feel overwhelming or when you’re unsure how to stay safe.

Can I still use HeyPeers if I’ve had a crisis?

Absolutely. Many members use HeyPeers as part of their ongoing wellness journey. We simply ask that crisis situations be handled with the appropriate emergency or crisis resources first, so that HeyPeers remains a safe, supportive space for all members.
