Raise Hand in a HeyPeers Meeting

Participants can use the Raise Hand feature to let you know they would like to speak without interrupting the conversation. This tool helps you manage turn‑taking smoothly, especially in larger groups.

Where participants find the Raise Hand button

Participants select Raise in the bottom toolbar of the meeting window.
When they do, a hand icon appears on their video tile. The same icon appears next to their name in the Participants list

If multiple people raise their hands, numbers show the order in which hands were raised.

How participants lower their hands

Participants can lower their own hand at any time by selecting Lower in the bottom toolbar.

How you (the host) can lower a participant’s hand

You can lower someone’s hand if the participant has finished speaking or if they forgot to lower it themselves.

To lower a participant’s hand, open the Participants panel or hover over the participant's video tile. Select the 3‑dot menu next to their name. Choose Lower Hand.

Tips for Peer Supporters

  • Use raised hands to manage sharing time fairly
  • If multiple hands are raised, follow the numbered order
  • If someone raises their hand accidentally, you can lower it for them
