Host Controls in a HeyPeers Meeting
As a Peer Supporter, you have access to a set of host tools that help you guide the meeting, support participants, and manage the flow of conversation. This article shows you where each tool is located and what it does. For detailed instructions on how to use specific features, see the linked standalone articles.
Where to Find Host Tools
Host tools appear in four locations within the HeyPeers meeting window.
1. Bottom Toolbar
The bottom toolbar runs along the lower edge of the meeting window and contains your core audio and video controls. From here, you can turn your microphone and camera on or off, raise or lower your hand, send emoji reactions, share your screen, check your network connection, and leave the meeting.

2. White Top Toolbar

3. Secondary Toolbar
The secondary toolbar sits directly below the white top toolbar and contains the tools you use to manage participant interaction during the meeting. From here, you can switch between Speaker View and Grid View, open the Participants panel to see who is in the meeting, access the Chat panel to send messages, and view the Network panel to check your connection quality. These tools help you monitor engagement and stay aware of what’s happening in the room.

- If someone’s audio or video is disruptive, you can mute or turn off their camera without drawing attention to it.
- When sharing documents, pause for a moment so participants have time to open or read them.
