Student Observer Policy
We understand that students often have a requirement to observe a support group as part of their course of study. The meetings on HeyPeers are solely for the benefit of our participants, who do NOT join our meetings to be "observed." The HeyPeers Community is a safe space where anyone can come and seek community. While we recognize that students need to, and will, join support groups to fulfill observation requirements as a part of their studies, it is our duty to uphold and prioritize the authenticity of our groups.
I agree that I WILL participate in the group authentically—including turning my camera on and stating my name during check in.
I agree that I WILL NOT identify myself as an observer or that I am attending to fulfill an academic requirement.
IMPORTANT! Please do not bring attention to the fact that you are observing the meeting. As previously mentioned it is imperative that you participate in meetings fully and genuinely.
Authentic participation is a requirement. This includes turning on your camera and checking in. The group facilitator will remove you from the meeting if you identify yourself as a student observer. For this reason, you should choose a meeting that you have personal experience and interest in, so that you can participate fully and authentically.
As a reminder, if you violate these policies, it will lead to you being immediately ejected from the meeting and can lead to a removal from HeyPeers.
Proof of your attendance can be obtained by logging into your account and going to the My Meetings page and printing that page for verification of meeting attendance.
