How to connect with an organization Group Leader
At HeyPeers, every Peer Supporter is trained, certified, and genuinely here to support you. Some Peer Supporters lead groups that are hosted by specific organizations—these are called Group Leaders, and they’re here to help you feel seen, heard, and connected.
This guide will walk you through how to find, connect with, and message a Group Leader from one of these organizations.
To get started, click Organizations in the top menu bar.

The list of organizations will be displayed. Look for the tile that features the organization the Group Leader is part of—it may include the name and logo to help you recognize it easily. Once you’ve found it, click More to continue.

You’ll be taken to the organization’s profile page. Some organizations choose to highlight the Group Leaders who host their support meetings. If that’s the case, you’ll see a Group Leaders tab—click on it to view the team members who facilitate scheduled group meetings for the organization.

Once you’re on the Group Leaders tab, find the person you’d like to reach out to. Because connections with organization Group Leaders are permission-based, you’ll need to send a request first by clicking the Connect button.

A message will appear confirming that your request has been sent to the Group Leader.

Your connection request may be approved right away, or it might take a little time. Either way, once it's accepted, the Connect button will change to Connected—and that means you’re all set to start messaging the Group Leader directly.

To send the group leader a message, click on Message.

As another option, you can manage your connections anytime from the Contacts page. Just click More in the top menu bar, then choose Contacts from the dropdown menu to view and manage your current connections.

The Contacts page is where you can view your active, pending, and blocked connections—all in one place. You can also send messages from here.

When sending a message to the Group Leader from either the Group Leaders tab or the Contacts page, you’ll see a Send Message form appear. Type your message in the space provided, then click Send.

Once you click Send, you’ll see a confirmation that says: “Success! Your message has been sent.

Your conversation with the Group Leader will open a one-on-one chatroom where you can continue the exchange. Access it from the Chat page in the top menu.
