Joining HeyPeers: Creating your member account

Welcome! We’re so glad you’re here.

Creating your free HeyPeers member account is the first step toward connecting with compassionate peer support and helpful resources. This guide will walk you through the quick setup process so you can start your journey with confidence.

Step 1: Creating your account

To begin your HeyPeers journey, go to HeyPeers.com and click Sign Up in the top right corner.

You’ll see the Welcome to HeyPeers signup form. Enter your email address and, if you’d like to stay in the loop, check the box to receive email announcements. Then click Continue.

Prefer to use your Google account? You can click Sign Up with Google instead. This skips the standard signup form and email verification—making your start even simpler.

Next, you’ll be asked to enter your first and last name and choose a username. Your username will appear to others on the platform, so choose something you're comfortable sharing.

Note: Usernames may not include your email address, phone number, or the word “HeyPeers.”

When you’re ready, click Next.

Now you’ll be asked to choose a password. Your password must meet the following requirements:
  • 8–20 characters long
  • Does not contain spaces
  • Includes at least one uppercase letter
  • Includes at least one number
  • Includes at least one symbol
    Allowed Symbols: ! @ # $ % ^ & * ( ) , . ? " : { } |

Click Create my account to finish creating your member account.

Step 2: Verifying your email

Now that your account has been created, we’ll need to verify your email. This helps keep your account secure and ensures we can reach you with important updates, meeting reminders, and chat room announcements.

After clicking Create my account, you’ll see this confirmation message on the screen:

This message lets you know that a verification email has been sent to the address you provided. Look for an email from HeyPeers with the subject line Confirmation Instructions.

Didn’t receive your email within a few minutes?
Check your spam or junk folder—it might have ended up there. You can also try logging in to prompt a resend.

Once you receive the email, open it and click Activate Now to verify your email address.

Step 3: Verifying your phone number

To keep HeyPeers safe for everyone, we've added an extra layer of protection to your account. You'll receive a one-time verification code via text to confirm your phone number.

After verifying your email, you’ll be prompted to select your country and to enter a mobile phone number where you can receive text messages. Click Send Code to receive your verification code.

Seeing "Phone number has already been taken"?

You may have created an account in the past using that number. Click here for help recovering your password or contacting support.

A single-use 6-digit code (valid for 10 minutes) will be sent to the number you provided. The screen will update to allow you to enter the code.

The text message will say "Your HeyPeers verification code is XXXXXX". Enter the code in the field labeled Verification Code, then click Verify to proceed.
If the code doesn’t arrive, double-check your phone number, try resending the code, and confirm your device can receive SMS messages.

If the correct verification code is entered, you’ll be brought directly into the member’s module, where you can start exploring your HeyPeers experience.

If the code is incorrect, you’ll see the message: "Incorrect code, please try again."  You can either re-enter the code or request a new code to be sent to your mobile phone.

Reminder: Verification codes are valid for 10 minutes. If yours expires, just request a new one to continue.

You're all set!

You’ve successfully created your HeyPeers member account, verified your email, and confirmed your phone number. It's now time to explore all that HeyPeers offers.
