How to connect with an independent Peer Supporter

This article walks you through the steps for connecting with an independent Peer Supporter on HeyPeers. Once you're connected, you'll be able to exchange private messages, receive invitations to private group chats, and build supportive relationships tailored to your journey.

From the top menu bar, select Peer Supporters to open the directory of available supporters.
Once you’re on the Peer Supporters page, find the Peer Supporter you'd like to connect with. Because connections with independent Peer Supporters are permission-based, you’ll need to send a connection request first by clicking the Connect button.

The Connect button changes to Request Sent as you wait for approval.

You can also monitor your connection requests on the Contacts page. See Managing contacts for more details.

Your connection request may be approved right away, or it might take a little time. Either way, once it's accepted, the Request Sent button will change to You're Connected.

Once the connection is confirmed, you can send private messages using a dedicated one-on-one chatroom.

For help starting a private chatroom, see How to create a one-on-one chatroom.
