Group meetings led by independent Peer Supporters
On HeyPeers, independent Peer Supporters lead peer support groups—confidential, peer-led gatherings that create space for shared connection, reflection, and support. Drawing from their own lived experience and diverse backgrounds, these trained and certified peers facilitate discussions rooted in empathy, mutual respect, and community, outside of formal organizational programs.

What is a peer support group?
A peer support group is a gathering of individuals who share similar life experiences—such as mental health challenges, recovery journeys, or caregiving roles—and come together to offer mutual support. These groups empower participants to feel seen, heard, and less alone. They are:
- voluntary and non-clinical, led by certified Peer Supporters trained to facilitate supportive, experience-based dialogue
- rooted in shared understanding, where lived experience forms the foundation for connection
- safe and stigma-free, encouraging open, respectful dialogue.
