New Tools for Meeting Safety and Participant Access

April 2026

Two updates are now available on HeyPeers that strengthen meeting safety and improve the participant experience. These tools help Peer Supporters manage access to their meetings and ensure participants receive clear information when joining.

Peer Supporters Can Block Members From Their Meetings

Peer Supporters can now block individual members from registering for or joining their meetings. This feature supports Peer Supporter safety by allowing them to control who can access their meetings and who can contact them on HeyPeers.

Blocking is managed from the Contacts page. When a member is blocked, they cannot register for the Peer Supporter’s meetings, cannot join those meetings, and cannot send messages to the Peer Supporter. If the member was already registered for an upcoming meeting, that registration will be cancelled and refunded.

Participants Cannot Enter a HeyPeers Meeting Until the Host Arrives

Participants can no longer enter a HeyPeers meeting or its waiting room until the host is present. This prevents members from being left alone in a meeting space and reduces confusion when a host is late or does not show up.

Participants now see a clear message that the meeting has not yet opened. This applies automatically to all HeyPeers Meetings. Zoom meetings are not affected.
